Paraguay

Paraguay was never on the list of places that I was due to visit. Most South Americans don't think much of the place. It's the second poorest country in South America ahead of Bolivia damn hot up to 45 degrees C land locked and a turbulent political past. Asuncion The capital of Paraguay

Our journey to Acunsion the capital of Paraguay was not quite as easy as we had planned. Origonally we had thought that we had a night bus to a town called resistancia followed by a short 6 hour bus to the border where we could calmly cross over to Paraguay. This was all true until we stepped off the bus at the border and as we waited for our bags our bus just drove off with both our mouths open

Documentary worthy.4500k Huancayo Peru all the way to Asuncion ParaguayIn a 125 or 150 cc moto taxi that topped out at 47mph down hilldownwind. Way over the weight limit to have them work correctly. wow.Finished the race going across the Chaco desert in Paraguay... 4 countries in a day

Today was always going to be a bit of a nothing day as we were shipping out in the evening so after wandering into town to get my first dvd burned I found an acai for breakfast and wandered back to the hotel 7 of us had elected to go to Paraguay for a couple of hours an illicit border raid if you will as we didn't get the passport stamps.
