Suriname, officially the Republic of Suriname is a country in northern South America.

Suriname is situated between French Guiana to the east and Guyana to the west. The southern border is shared with Brazil and the northern border is the Atlantic coast. The southern borders with French Guiana and Guyana are fighting along the rivers Corantijn Marowijne and, respectively, while part of the maritime boundary dispute with Guyana was arbitrated by the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea on 20 September 2007.



Suriname is the smallest sovereign state in terms of area and population in South America. The country is the only Dutch-speaking region in the Western Hemisphere that is not part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Suriname is very diverse ethnic, linguistic and religious. Suriname geographical spread is somewhat less than 64,000 square miles, which is more than four times the size of the Netherlands, and has an estimated population of about 470,000 people. About a quarter of the population lives in less than U.S. $ 2 day.

Day 4 Brokobaka

Day 3 Paramaribo Brokopondo
Im up early about 10.30am as the kids are up and about. Zuwena comes and picks us about 1pm luckily Im not hanging We go into town to see Nancys gran and Zuwenas mum. Day 1 Leaving The UK Arriving Suriname
It is actually Friday the 13thof January that I am writing this I have been caught up until now. The real adventure has now started so I need to keep a track of what has been going on I have taken about 200 pics aleady but can39t get them off my camera at the moment.
