Japan
Japan is an island country in East Asia. Located in the Pacific Ocean,
it lies to the east of the Sea of Japan, People's Republic of China,
North Korea, South Korea and Russia, stretching from the Sea of Okhotsk
in the north to the East China Sea and Taiwan in the south. The characters
which make up Japan's name mean "sun-origin", which is why Japan is sometimes
identified as the "Land of the Rising Sun".

The People's Republic of China commonly known as China, is the largest country
in East Asia and the most populous in the world with over 1.3 billion people,
approximately one-fifth of the world's population. It is a socialist republic
(specifically a people's democratic dictatorship according to its constitution)
ruled by the Communist Party of China under a single-party system, and has
jurisdiction over 22 provinces, five autonomous regions (Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia,
Tibet, Ningxia, and Guangxi), four municipalities (Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, and Chongqing),
and two highly autonomous Special Administrative Regions (Hong Kong and Macau). China's capital is Beijing.
